Beginning of the Trek

15 days Everest Base Camp Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
As soon as you land at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, your beautiful adventure to Nepal officially starts. No activities are planned on the first day, hence you can rest and prepare yourself for the trek.
Day 2: From Kathmandu to Lukla
We took the early flight to Tenzing Hillary airport in Lukla, which is located at an altitude of 2810 meters above sea level, the main entry point to the Everest trekking zone and which is a stunning mountain town. After having lunch we took about an hour’s rest and then again set off for the trek. We had a night’s stay in a tea house at Phakding.
Day 3: Namche Bazar
Now, we are at 3,440 meters, it is an easy troll on a mostly flat trail. One can observe and see the beautiful villages around Namche Bazar. From here, we hike north towards Khunde Village, and at the near end, we can see a lot of monasteries. After this, one proceeds towards the Khumjung Village, at the end of this, you can have your first sight of Mount Everest.
Day 4: Tengboche
From here, the trail peaks gradually, and then you find yourself surrounded by a mountainside along. At this place, you will also have a sweeping view of the valley, Ama Dablam and Mount Everest. You will reach Sanasa after about an hour of hiking along an exposed mountainside, where the trail continues to the northeast, primarily in dense woodland. After an hour, you will arrive in Phunki Thanga, and from here on, you will be climbing up a steep trail through a pine forest, and then you will arrive at Tengboche.
Day 5: Dingboche
This is the easiest trail, Tengboche to Dingboche, and can be completed in a duration of three hours.
Day 6: Dingboche
For most trekkers, Dingboche is the second rest stop. We’ll climb to the Nangkartshang Viewpoint (5,060m) on this day for amazing mountain views of Ama Dablam, Makalu, the Imja Valley, and the surrounding area. After that, we’ll return to Dingboche to relax and take advantage of the remaining time before moving toward Lobuche.
Day 7: Lobuche
As we keep climbing we make our way to the Lobuche town, which is located at the base of the giant Lobuche mountain. Due to the altitude, some breathing issues can occur.
Day 8: Gorak Shep
You need to walk along the glacial path. The Khumbu Icefall can be seen in all its beauty from Base Camp.
Day 9: Reach Everest Base Camp
One of the hardest but most exciting days of the trek will be this one. Despite the challenging journey, the trekker is blessed with a beautiful mountain view. The giants Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse, and countless others are on all sides as well as Everest. Trek down to Pheriche after a rapid descent to Gorak Shep.
Day10: Tengboche
Trek back to Tengboche, where we can take some rest and explore the nearby markets.
Day 11: Namche Bazar
We will leave Tengboche early in the morning and travel to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital.
The day will begin with a steep descent toward the village of Phunki Tenga, after this, the trail transforms into a gradual uphill. You’ll get to the Kyangjuma settlement by crossing a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. Then, you will head towards Namche Bazar.
Day 12: Namche Bazar
From here, there will be a lot of steep downhill. Here, most of the day you will be walking under the shades of rhododendron and pine forest alongside the Dudh Koshi River. You’ll cross a second suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River in Phakding before continuing uphill toward Lukla. Before returning to Kathmandu in the evening, you’ll celebrate the success of the Everest Base Camp Trek with the entire group.
Day 13: Lukla
We will pass through a lot of Buddhist temples and rock walls as we make our way to Lukla.
Day 14: Kathmandu
The last and final day of our trek to Everest Base Camp. We shall say goodbye to the Himalayas and after breakfast take a flight to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Departure
From Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport departs to your destination. Last and final departure from Nepal.
