Bluetooth speakers have been gaining popularity in recent years. Unfortunately, only half of them can be considered good models with high-quality sound. Today we will tell you how to choose and connect them correctly.
How to choose the right features?
As a rule, a Bluetooth speaker is more suitable for hiking, tourism, the sea, and the beach – where it is problematic to install an acoustic system. Although I know a few people who listen to music at home from portable speakers.
Hertz
And so, first of all, you need to look at the sound quality, this is where the snake of complexity lies because until you buy a speaker and listen to it, you won’t understand.
Therefore, it will be repelled from the declared frequency. As you probably noticed, almost all of them work with a high threshold of 20,000 Hz, but things are much more complicated with low frequencies. Without the bottom, the music will sound very muffled. As a rule, even with the full range, the instruments do not always sound as they should. Here you also need to take into account the quality of the recording of the track – that is, at what speed the playback takes place, as well as from the reproducing apparatus.
Try to choose speakers up to 100 Hz on the lower threshold. But if they are tiny, then there is no point in waiting for high-quality bottoms, since the low frequency depends on the diameter of the speaker.
Battery
Next, look at the battery. On average, portable speakers have the same batteries as gyro scooters and have a capacity of 3000-4000 mAh. But here it is necessary to take into account energy consumption. The louder we turn it on, the less it will work on a single charge. Plus, I would not advise taking it with a backlight, as it additionally puts a load on the battery, which makes it sit down faster.
Bluetooth version
Now let’s look at Bluetooth. Modern models work with versions 4 and higher, the average with version 3. The higher the version, the wider the range in meters, and the less power consumption when receiving a signal. So the information packets will be much larger, and the sound quality depends on it. The best option is 4.0 – 4.3, well, or higher.
Sound power
What is Watt – roughly speaking, this is the power of the speakers at the maximum. That is, what pressure they can create per square meter? If you need a loud model, then it would be good to take 15 watts and above. For home and 10 will do. If you want to be straight loud in nature – 25 and above. But this reduces the charge time.
Here it is necessary to take into account the size of the speakers, as well as their number. The best option is two or more speakers. One goes to reproduce low frequencies, and the second is the speakers for high frequencies. Usually, speakers with one speaker sound a little worse.
Protection
As a rule, a wireless waterproof speaker is protected from moisture and dust. This allows the device to work quietly in the vicinity of water bodies in nature. And now I’ll tell you a little about IPXY protection. The first digit X indicates that there is protection against physical small particles. The second Y – speaks of moisture protection.
Additional connectors
If you will use it at home, it is better to take it with a separate power connector. Although it can be powered by USB or Micro USB. You can also directly connect to these ports from a phone, tablet or laptop to stream music, but this is usually not necessary.
USB Type A is the ability to connect USB drives with music and play on the speaker. For small speakers, there is a separate SD input for a memory card. It works on the same principle – you insert a carrier with songs and enjoy your favorite songs.
How to connect?
Notebook
Just want to note that not all laptops have Bluetooth. Also, some separately buy modules for the PC.
- Enable keyboard shortcutfn+F3. Or in the tray in the lower right corner of the screen, if the Bluetooth module is not built-in.
- Next, turn on Bluetooth on the speaker. This is done by pressing a button on the machine’s control panel.
- Now you need to find the column in the available laptop devices and make a connection. After that, turn on the musical composition and enjoy.
On the phone
In the 21st century, almost all smartphones and tablets have a Bluetooth module that comes immediately in the package. To turn it on, follow the instructions:
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
- Now on the column.
- We are looking for a device among all available on a smartphone. Usually, the column will have the name of its model, so don’t get confused.
- Connecting.
- Turn on the music – listen.
Connecting via AUX
AUX wire is found in almost any configuration. It has the appearance of a double 3.5 mm mini-jack on one side and the other.
The connection is pretty simple. We insert one end into the connector on the PC (OUT type), laptop (headphones, if there is no other input), or into the headphone input on the smartphone. Next, just turn on the speaker, and then the music. The computer should automatically detect the type of output (column).
