Crumbly Cookies can be found in every grocery store. I figured it was high time I gave my own opinion on the craze that is Crumbl Cookies, the extra-large cookies filled and topped with gourmet flavors. What’s the deal with these cookies?
Do you know about Crumbl Cookies? To help bring people together over what Crumbl calls “the world’s best box of cookies,” the company has expanded from its humble beginnings in Logan, Utah to cities all over the United States.
More and more Crumbl stores are opening up each week, and there are already more than 300 in operation across the United States. Those who have yet to sample these delectable cookies can do so by using the site’s handy store finder.
Since I’ve recently joined the Crumbl Promo Code fan club and have begun baking my own imitations of the cookie, I figured it was time to write a review.
Would You Spend Your Money on Crumbl Cookies?
To begin, do these cookies actually taste as good as they sound? Although they look delicious, at $4 per cookie, they are not cheap. Is it financially viable?
Let’s get down to the first principles.
Each of the specialized cookies measures between 4.25 and 4.5 inches in diameter and weighs about 5.5 ounces.
These giant gourmet cookies feature one-of-a-kind flavors that can’t be found elsewhere. Examples of such flavors include Cinnamon Toast, Cotton Candy, Frozen Hot Chocolate, Blueberry Muffins, Caramel Popcorn, and even Sour Patch Kids.
All-New Flavors Every Week
The fact that the bakery only releases four or five flavors every week is part of the “hype” surrounding the cookies. As a result, it’s impossible to predict what will be sold next or if your favorite flavor will ever return.
In other words, if you come across an absolutely irresistible flavor. You’d better grab it before the stores close on Saturday night.
Crumbl Cookies is not above bringing back flavors that were previously discontinued, so there is hope! However, you can never tell if and when a former favorite will make a comeback. To some extent, this explains the current wave of interest in recipes that are essentially carbon copies of their more famous counterparts. Finding a cookie that you really enjoy and being able to whip some up whenever you want is a lot of fun.
Crumbl’s Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie remains a staple on the menu alongside the rotating selection of weekly flavors (their frosted & chilled Pink Sugar Cookie also used to be a weekly offering, but has moved to the flavor rotation as of April 2022).
The Sampled Cookies
For this review, my husband and I bought a box of four cookies and then sat down to be extremely picky about each one. After all, cookies are a serious business. We taste-tested the cookies the following day (and the following day) to see how they held up after being stored.
Opinions on Crumbl Cookies as a Whole
Below, I give my in-depth thoughts on each cookie, but here’s the tl;dr version!
What I like best is that there are always exciting new flavors to try and that the cookies are a generous gourmet size (talk about eye-catching cookies). Those little pink packagings are too cute.
What I didn’t like was that some of the cookies had a predominant sugar flavor. While I do enjoy a sweet treat, my preference is for something that strikes a good balance between sweetness and other flavors.
An Evaluation of Milk Chocolate-Covered Chips
Choco-chip cookies, yum! Crumbl’s weekly cookie selection always includes this one. It has stood the test of time and is still very popular today. The chocolate chips in Crumbl Cookies are milk chocolate, rather than the more conventional semisweet variety.
It has been speculated that Crumbl uses Guittard Chocolate Chips for the chips, and the large Guittard chips would be a great choice if you wanted to recreate the cookies at home.
This cookie stands out from the rest thanks to its enormous size, enormous milk chocolate chips, and gooey interior. While I enjoyed the cookie, I thought the predominant flavor was too sweet. Despite the fact that the gooey center was enjoyable, I found the cookie to be too sweet, especially since milk chocolate chips were used instead of semi-sweet ones. 3/5 stars.
Evaluation of a Triple Chocolate Cookie
That triple-chocolate cookie was a real treat. It’s like a chocolate chip cookie version of a brownie. Tender, chocolatey, and chewy. 5/5 stars.
An Evaluation of Key Lime Crumbl Cookies
The cookie itself wasn’t particularly tasty, but the Key lime pie filling made up for it. The texture was a little too soft and cakey, and the flavor was overpowered by the key lime.
Crumbl Cookies are best eaten the day they are made, but they can be stored for a day if necessary (refrigerate any toppings that will spoil quickly). Our test cookie, which spent several days in the fridge, was still delicious, though it had become noticeably softer due to the filling’s moisture.
Compared to the Instagram photos of Crumbl and other cookie enthusiasts, this cookie’s presentation fell a little short. In appearance, it was not unlike a dollop of filling atop a cookie. 3/5 stars.
Review of Snickers Peanut Butter Cookies
I’m a sucker for a good peanut butter cookie, and this one did not disappoint. However, there was a lot of sugar in it again. Just the cookie loaded with Snickers pieces would have satisfied me completely. The frosting elevated the dessert’s sweetness but contributed little else in the way of flavor. Nonetheless, that’s one adorable cookie! 4/5 stars.
Crumbl Cookies are delicious, so you should try them if you haven’t already. A Milk Chocolate Chip with some of the deals of the week would be a great choice. The ones with a chocolate base seem to be the best. Any flavor that sounds extremely sugary probably.
The Case of the Delivered Cookies
A variety of Crumbl Cookies were recently shipped to me, and I thought it would be helpful to detail the process of shipping Crumbl Cookies and share my thoughts on the brand and product.
There, you’ll find a lot more information, but for now, I’ll just say that the cookies were disappointing. The flavors weren’t as good as the freshly baked originals, and some of them were dry or doughy (and not in a good way).
Funfetti, classic peanut butter, blueberry muffin, cookies and cream, and a few others were among the flavors I sampled.
Can you list the various Crumbl Cookie flavors?
Crumbl cookies come in more than a hundred varieties. Over 200, in fact. You can try a wide variety of cookies with that many. There’s a lot of thought and imagination put into the flavors, and they’re very appealing.
New ones are constantly being added to the mix, making it difficult to stay current. I have a long list of Crumbl flavors that includes each and every one (including a printable list if you want).
Cookies come in a wide variety of flavors, including birthday cake, buckeye brownie, snickerdoodle cupcake, key lime pie, buttermilk pancake, mint chip ice cream, strawberry pop tart, raspberry lemonade, peach cobbler, s’mores, fruit pizza, german chocolate cake, and many more. Really, who could say no?
