The first half saw both sides go head to head, with both teams exchanging tries. As the game progressed, both sides tightened up their defences and pressed their opponents, but the game remained evenly matched. The game was not without drama, however, as the Ionians took the lead in the fourth minute when a good line-out was transferred across the backs.
The second half was an entertaining encounter, with both teams displaying their class and fighting spirit. Andy Dawson’s side have won back-to-back games under interim head coach
Andy Dawson is in charge of Hull City as caretaker manager, after talks with former head coach Pedro Martins fell through. Hull have lost five of their last six league games and remain one point above the relegation zone. It is unclear whether Dawson will remain in the role of interim head coach or be named the club’s permanent manager. But the uncertainty surrounding his future must be affecting his team’s performances. This has been especially true as the side went 2-1 down to Luton Town on Wednesday and came back to claim a valuable three points.
Hull’s most popular player is Andy Dawson, a former Luton player. The striker’s experience has helped him instil belief in his players. As a former player, he has made an impact at Hull City. But he is not the only player with a history with the club. His son, Joey, is a footballer for Glasgow Celtic. He moved to Glasgow from Scunthorpe United in 2021 and made his first team debut for Hull City in August 2019. As the youngest player to ever represent Hull City, Joey Dawson has a unique perspective on the game of modern professional football.
Rotherham are heavy favorites to take all three points
Rotherham are the heavy favourites to win this game, with bookies offering odds of 5/4 on the Millers to win. They are coming off a 3-1 win over Blackpool last time out, and have a good record in the Championship.
Hull have won back-to-back matches in the Championship, while Rotherham have won two of their last three matches. They are three points behind Wycombe, but have two games in hand. Hull are unbeaten in their last five home games, and have only conceded one goal in their last five. Rotherham have also lost their last two away matches, but have the best defensive record in League One.
Both sides are in desperate need of a win, but with a long list of injuries, Hull aren’t likely to field a full strength team. The Tigers are without Callum Elder, Ben Tetteh and Harvey Vale. But they did produce impressive results in midweek, so this is an interesting match for Hull to watch kooora4live.
